Leading in a Volunteering Environment (LiVE)
The LiVE programme is an ‘in-house’ training option, designed to both support those new to leading volunteers and to provide the opportunity for structured reflection for those who have been responsible for leading volunteers for some time.
Course information
LiVE consists of a series of workshops that allow candidates to consider a range of key issues related to leadership, and each workshop is tailored to the volunteering environment. Topics covered include:
- Communication skills and strategies
- Developing volunteering teams
- Leadership styles and principles
- Project development
- Training in group settings
- Introduction to fundraising
- Leadership in practice
- Mentoring in a volunteering context
For whom it is suitable
All those working with and leading volunteers, including line managers, supervisors and team leaders, who wish to develop good practice.
Delivery methods
Discussions and workshops led by approved Attend Academy tutors, with supporting case studies, group and individual exercises.
- Bronze programme – attending 3 or 4 workshops
- Silver programme – attending 5 or 6 workshops
- Gold programme – attending 7 or 8 workshops
